1. What is the process for admission?
Once a potential client completes and submits the Pre-Admission Forms, an appointment is scheduled and the individual is evaluated by the physician and other disciplines on staff (OT, PT, Speech, etc.) as necessary. From these evaluations, a determination is made as to the potential client's needs - whether the day treatment program or outpatient services - and a preliminary care plan is developed.
2. How long should I expect to stay at BBRC?
This is a complex question because there are so many variables that factor into this issue. However, one can generally expect to be in the program about six months depending of course on the severity of the injury and how well the individual participates while at the program.
3. What are team meetings/care conferences?
Team meetings function to bring as many members of the treatment team together as possible, such as the case manager, vocational rehabilitation counselors, insurance adjusters, family members, and the client's attorney. During these meetings the client's progress is discussed and possible alternatives to the treatment/care plan are discussed by all members involved. Family members are encouraged to participate and share what they observe while the client is at home.
4. Who should be contacted if there is a question, concern or problem?
This is dependent on what the question or problem is. If the question is regarding an administrative issue, say insurance for example, one should contact the intake coordinator. If the question is medical in nature, one would direct that question to the physician or the staff nurse. All other questions or concerns should be directed to the clinical director.
5. How often will I attend therapy sessions?
This is decided on a case-by-case basis. Since each client's treatment is customized to serve their needs, it varies from client to client. Some will require attendance five days a week and others may only require coming once or twice a week.
6. What insurances do you accept?
We accept most health insurances including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Tricare and Champus, as well as auto insurance and worker's compensation. In addition, for those without insurance, we are willing to work with you on a private pay basis.
